Good news: The government of Pakistan has widened its popular Prime Minister’s Youth Business & Agriculture Loan Scheme. A new “Tier-4” category now offers interest-free loans to students, freelancers, and those planning to work overseas.
Students Can Get Loans to Buy Laptops
The update, announced through a circular from the State Bank of Pakistan, helps young people cover costs like buying laptops and funding overseas job opportunities.
Here’s how you can apply for PM Youth Loan Laptop Scheme if you qualify:
Eligibility Criteria for the PM Laptop Loan Scheme
To be eligible for a Prime Minister loan laptop scheme 2025, applicants must meet these requirements:
- Be a Pakistani citizen between 18 and 30 years old.
- Either be studying at a Higher Education Commission–recognized institution or working as a freelancer or young entrepreneur with a solid business plan.

Universities will refer eligible students to partner banks through the PMYP portal. The banks will add the loan installments to tuition fees, and payments will be deducted automatically. Universities will act as guarantors and may hold back the degree until the loan is fully repaid. In addition, a family member must provide personal guarantees.
Loan Requirements for Overseas Workers
For those with an overseas job offer, the requirements include:
- Being a Pakistani citizen aged between 21 and 45 years.
- Possessing a valid job offer that is verified by Pakistan Missions abroad, Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs), or Protector Offices.
