You Can Now Make An Appointment For New Passports Online
The Directorate General (DG) of Passports and Immigration has ordered to set up an online appointment booking system for citizens applying for a passport, ARY News reported on Friday.
Led by Director General Mustafa Jamal, this policy represents a step forward in improving the convenience of passport applicants at zonal offices.
Jamal emphasized the need for an online appointment booking system to provide better service to citizens. To further improve the applicant experience, an SMS alert notification system was offered.
The move follows the introduction of an electronic passport system by the General Directorate of Immigration and Passports in passport offices across the country. The federal government’s introduction of the electronic passport in June aims to modernize passport services.
Here is the pricing structure for ePassports:
Passport Type | Validity | Normal Processing
Fee (Rs) |
Urgent Processing Fee (Rs) |
36-Page (5-Year Validity) | 5 years | 9,000 | 15,000 |
72-Page (5-Year Validity) | 5 years | 16,500 | 27,000 |
36-Page (10-Year Validity) | 10 years | 13,500 | 22,500 |
72-Page (10-Year Validity) | 10 years | 24,750 | 40,500 |
Please note that standard fees for non-ePassports remain unchanged. This digital transformation is intended to speed up the issuance of passports and provide citizens with a more user-friendly experience.
