Corinne Mair lost her 16-year-old son Bradley Hope in 2019. She firmly believed that her son’s death would not be in vain after inhaling an aerosol.
Corinne Mair is the mother of Bradley Hope, who died in late 2019 after inhaling a deodorant spray.
Bradley will be remembered as a charming and devoted young man who died after using an inhalant with colleagues at a slumber party on the NSW north coast.
The circumstances surrounding his death are largely agreed upon, but his mother Corinne Mair fought for an inquest to “prevent another young life like Bradley’s from being lost”.
Corinne Mair Current Condition
Corinne Mair currently resides in NSW. On 8th December 2019, she lost her son Bradley John Hope in a sleepover after making the tragic mistake of “chroming” (Rexona sniffs) according to Yahoo.
Corinne said her son tried chrome Rexona for the first time; however, he had a fatal heart attack and could not be saved.
Bradley, a healthy young man, died after his heart stopped due to Rexona’s hazardous ingredients. Bradley was the sixth Australian child to die directly from Rexona inhalation.
Rexona acknowledged that its product was linked to these deaths, but there was no adequate public education, labeling, or labeling.
Instead, society has chosen to make it a societal issue rather than a fundamental product toxicity issue.
On the other hand, Koby, Bradley’s older brother, told A Current Affair that none of his friends with Bradley had tried Chrome that night.
Although she acknowledges that Corinne’s son “played a part” in her death, she claims that Rexona is responsible for her death. He also met with representatives from Rexona’s parent company, Unilever.
She said parent company Unilever has admitted the product has been linked to six deaths, including Bradley’s.
Bradley Hope’s Mom is Calling For A Change
Bradley Hope’s mother, Corinne Mair, is calling for more action to educate children about the risks associated with chrome plating.
The NSW teenager’s mother Bradley Hope insisted his death would not be in vain after he inhaled an aerosol.
After Bradley’s death, Mair visited executives at Rexona’s parent company Unilever and urged them to do more to educate teenagers about the dangers of chrome plating, improve the warnings on their cans and replace the contents of their product, which is popular with teenagers.
Corinne Mair said there must be answers or ways to stop this during an inquest into the accidental death of her 16-year-old son.
“As a community, we cannot afford to lose another young life in this way,” he added.
Additionally, in the first investigation of its kind, NSW State Coroner Teresa O’Sullivan has issued detailed and urgent recommendations to address the trend in inhalant use, sometimes referred to as “inhalant abuse”.
During a panel discussion, O’Sullivan suggested that NSW Health should include police, the Department of Education, paramedics, manufacturers, retailers, and community and youth services.
The roundtable is expected to consider a public health campaign, educational initiatives for parents and children, possible regulations on the sale of inhalants, and improved training for law enforcement and paramedics.
Similarly, Ms. O’Sullivan advised manufacturers to continue researching new and safer products while the Australian Aerosol Association investigated the effectiveness of warning labels on containers.
