Wheel of Fortune Fans Are Outraged After A Competitor Loses A Car When They Guess The Correct Answer
A special technical feature in “Wheel of Fortune” got the fans of the popular series skidded.
Earlier this week, contestant Charlene Rubush wowed classic game studios and home audiences when she entered the bonus round with $16,500. But the timing was everything when Rubush tried to solve a puzzle in the “What are you doing?” to solve.
While pondering the answers to the puzzle, as reported by Yahoo, Rubush said, “Pick the right card,” which was wrong. With time remaining, Rubush made another attempt by saying, “Choose the … right word” before the bell rang. Since this answer was correct, Rubush appeared to have won an Audi Q3. But his luck should change due to technical detail.
In all his years hosting the popular game show, host Pat Sajak undoubtedly sensed the frustration of the crowd as anyone who watched felt like Rubush got the puzzle right.
After the bell rang, Sajak, still fluent as a referee, said to Rubush, “You know, this one is tough because you said all the right words, including the word ‘word,’ but as you know it has to be more or be less, less continuous,” Sajak said. “We’ll allow a little pause, but not four or five seconds. Sorry. You did a good job, but we can’t tell you the price, and that was the Audi.”
Rubush took the judgment in leaps and bounds. However, fans didn’t and took to Twitter to capture their disappointment.
“The wheel of fortune was really ruined tonight!” exclaimed a tweet.
“Charlene solved this puzzle! He deserves this Audi!” Another said.
And another got really serious: “Wheel of Fortune, you just lost a viewer. “I chose the right word” so I will never see this show again. I’m done! I am with this lady. You deserve this Audi! This rule is the stupidest of all! I had it just before time ran out!”
But hey, $16,500 and vacation are nice “consolation prizes”. And Rubush seemed to agree when he left with a smile.
In April, WOF fans were also upset after another contestant lost an award for adding an extra ‘y’ to solve a puzzle. Another participant replied with the same answer without ‘and’ and won.
