WhatsApp Will Soon Allow Multiple Accounts On A Single Phone
WhatsApp already has the option to log into your account on four different devices and keep them in sync at the same time. But soon there will be another useful feature that will allow you to keep multiple accounts on one device.
No, it’s not about having multiple WhatsApp versions to run multiple accounts. Instead, this update lets you use multiple accounts in a single app and switch between them at any time.
As always, the feature was spotted by the WhatsApp feature tracking blog WABetaInfo. For the time being, this function is only visible in WhatsApp Business, but it will also reach other versions.
As the screenshot shows, WhatsApp offers the multiple accounts feature by adding a menu that allows you to switch between them at any time. Many other social apps including Instagram, Discord, and Telegram already have it.
Once you sign into another account from your device, it will be saved in your account list until you sign out of that account. This aims to allow people to separate their personal and work WhatsApp accounts even if they only have one device.
It’s unclear how WhatsApp will differentiate between notifications from multiple accounts. We may get a small tag indicating which account a message came from, but that remains to be seen.
Multi-Account for WhatsApp Business is still a work in progress, so it will take some time before it’s available to everyone.
