WhatsApp Makes It Easy To Invite People To Call
WhatsApp has announced a new feature that aims to make it easier to invite people to an audio chat. The new feature is called call links, and it works like invite links in Zoom, Google Meet, and other conferencing apps.
As the name suggests, this feature allows you to create links that you can share with people to invite them to calls. Tapping the link takes you straight to a call, and it works even if you don’t have the person in your contacts. Unsurprisingly, this doesn’t work for people who don’t have WhatsApp.
Call links are not a big feature and are already available on a variety of social apps. However, since WhatsApp is one of the most used chat apps in the world, it should be easier for many more people to start making calls without extra steps. It just means offering convenience rather than new features.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Call Links is rolling out and the process could take a few days or even a full week. He also said that the WhatsApp development team is working on other privacy features, such as end-to-end encryption for video calls with up to 32 people.
More details on this feature will be announced shortly.

Whatsapp On Tablet
In related news, WhatsApp is also working on the ability to use a tablet as a secondary device. This is made possible by the multi-device feature, which allows you to connect your main smartphone to a tablet via a QR code.
It works the same as WhatsApp Desktop, which means you have to scan a QR code that will appear on a secondary device via your phone, which will sync all your chats and media between the two.
The feature is still in beta and it’s unclear when it will be released to the public.
