WhatsApp For Tablets is About To Get A Major UI Update
WhatsApp makes improvements to its smartphone and desktop app from time to time, and it’s about time the tablet side got some love. The chat app brings a significant visual upgrade to WhatsApp on tablets, which should make multitasking easier.
The new beta version of WhatsApp for Android now features a dual-pane interface designed specifically for tablets. As always, the news comes from none other than WABetaInfo.
This is what it will look like.
Previously, the tablet version displayed the chat in full screen, allowing users to return to the chat list to switch to a different conversation each time.
However, thanks to the recent update, the chat list is always visible when opening a chat. Although the split view feature is also present in the call and status tabs, it is most beneficial for the chat section.
A split view makes it easy to switch between conversations without interrupting ongoing discussions. Additionally, it improves chat management and organization by allowing users to effortlessly scroll through the list of conversations and find the ones they want without leaving the currently open tab.
Typically, these features are tested in the beta channel for an extended period of time (from a few weeks to several months) before they are rolled out to everyone. Hopefully, it will be out of beta soon.
