Visa-Free Entry To Oman is A Hit With International Tourists

Oman has seen an increase in the number of international tourists after introducing visa-free and visa-on-arrival entry to 103 countries. The decision was made to support the country’s tourism industry.

Recent data from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), an Oman statistics agency, showed a whopping 348% increase in tourist numbers over the past year.

Similarly, with 2.9 million travelers arriving in Oman in 2022, 3- to 5-star hotels also saw a massive 50.8% increase in revenue. Occupancy also increased by 31.3% to 53.7%.

Oman has also seen an increase in the number of Indian tourists, with India among the 30 countries allowed to receive visas on arrival. Besides India, the other 29 countries with a visa on arrival are Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cuba, Costa Rica, Egypt, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, and Die Maldives. , Mauritania, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

Tourists from 103 countries have the opportunity to extend their stay in Oman beyond 14 days. After this period, however, travelers must apply for an e-Visa online and pay a fee of 20 OMR for a one-month stay.

Travelers can also apply for a multiple-entry visa for a year, as long as they stay no longer than a month on each visit and meet certain requirements.

Several countries such as Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Italy, and Bulgaria can enter Oman without a visa for up to 14 days.

Switzerland, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Georgia, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Belgium, Romania, Slovenia, Finland, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Cyprus, Ukraine, Spain, Czech Republic, Austria, Ireland, UK, Poland, Slovakia, France, Netherlands, Venezuela, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Thailand, South Africa, Russia, China, United States of America, Turkey, South Korea, New Zealand, Iran, Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Canada, Malaysia, and Singapore are among the countries on the list.
