Vince McMahon, a prominent figure in the wrestling industry and founder of WWE, has resigned as the executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings, WWE’s parent company. The decision comes in the wake of serious allegations, including assault, sex trafficking, and abuse, made by former WWE employee Janel Grant. McMahon initially dismissed the allegations but eventually resigned following a legal suit filed by Grant.
Despite denying the accusations and characterizing them as lies, McMahon decided to step down due to the gravity of the allegations. Throughout his tenure, McMahon has faced legal challenges, reportedly settling numerous cases with women.
In the current case, Grant accused McMahon of enticing her with a job offer in exchange for a physical relationship and trafficking her to individuals within WWE and officials of other companies. The legal filing includes allegations of sexual assault at WWE headquarters in June 2021 and references an investigation into a $3 million settlement between McMahon and another former employee with whom he had a consensual affair.
