Using Google Lens you can now easily translate text from screenshots

Last Updated on: 29th April 2021, 06:09 am

As reported by 9to5Google, Google Lens has a useful new feature. Now you can easily take a screenshot of the external test screen and have Google Lens translate without any intermediate steps.

The new feature is available in the Google Lens screenshot user interface for devices running the Android 11 operating system. The translate button is shown in the screenshot and can be clicked to quickly find and translate text.

In addition to translating the text, you can also copy the text in the screenshot, which can then be downloaded for offline access or sharing on social media such as Twitter or Instagram.

Users can quickly send a screenshot to the full Google Translate application.

It is not yet known if this feature will work on devices running Android 10 and earlier versions of this operating system.

Google Lens was first introduced at Google I / O 2017. It is an image recognition tool that was first integrated into the Google Assistant for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Later in 2018, it was incorporated into Google Photos for Pixel and other Android devices.

Google Lens was launched as a standalone app in the Play Store in June 2018 and has had over 500 million downloads since January of this year.
