US embassy stops interviewing more Pakistani passport holders

The US Mission to Pakistan announced the extension of interview waiver privileges for Pakistani citizens renewing B1/B2 business and tourist visas at the US Embassy in Islamabad and the US Consulate General in Karachi.

Eligible are Pakistani citizens aged 60 and over with B1/B2 visas that are valid or have expired within the last 48 months.

This process change will improve customer service and allow for more efficient processing of tourist and business visa renewals for qualified and eligible Pakistani citizens.

Potentially suitable candidates with scheduled appointments were contacted directly and informed of the possibility of applying through this new process.

Please note that under US law, some eligible visa holders may still be required to report for interviews at the US Embassy or Consulate-General thereafter to submit their applications.

Candidates can check the official website to see if they are eligible for an interview waiver.
