Record Registration for PSL Player Draft 2024
A remarkable total of 485 international players spanning 22 nations have officially thrown their hats into the ring for the upcoming PSL Player Draft 2024. The highly anticipated event is scheduled to unfold on December 13 at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
The players have been categorized into the prestigious Platinum and Diamond categories, with 46 and 76 players respectively cutting.
Star Power in the Platinum Category
The Platinum category is set to showcase the crème de la crème of international talent. Notable inclusions are England’s Dawid Malan and South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks, both currently holding top 10 positions in the ICC Men’s T20I player rankings for batters. Adding to the excitement, the World No. 5 T20I batter, Rilee Rossouw, has been traded to Quetta Gladiators from Multan Sultans ahead of the draft.

Joining the draft are formidable bowlers like Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana, Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, along with West Indies’ Akeal Hosein. The roster also features the World No. 2 T20I all-rounder, Mohammad Nabi.
Global Participation Breakdown
Leading the charge in player registrations from foreign countries is England, contributing an impressive 158 players. Following suit are West Indies (58), Sri Lanka (40), Afghanistan (36), and South Africa (30). Other noteworthy numbers include players from Bangladesh (21), New Zealand (18), Australia (16), Zimbabwe (11), and Ireland (9). Additionally, players from associate member countries have added to the diverse pool.
Platinum Category Highlights
The Platinum category boasts a star-studded lineup, featuring Australian talents Daniel Sams and Ashton Agar, Afghan powerhouses Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, as well as English stars Ben Duckett, Chris Jordan, David Willey, Dawid Malan, and others.
Notable players from Nepal, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies are set to make the Platinum category fiercely competitive.
