The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has officially opened admissions for government medical and dental colleges in Punjab for the 2024-25 session. Applications for MBBS and BDS programs are being accepted under the guidelines set by the Punjab Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
Punjab MBBS & BDS Admissions for 2024-25
According to the Government of Punjab’s Admission Policy 2024-25, UHS Lahore will oversee the entire admission process for all medical and dental colleges in the province. Even private colleges affiliated with other universities cannot handle admissions independently. Only students applying through UHS will secure their spots in the desired programs.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS & BDS
Academic Requirements:
- MDCAT 2024:
- At least 55% (110/200) for MBBS
- At least 50% (100/200) for BDS
- Foreign candidates can submit alternative test scores (SAT-II, MCAT, UCAT) meeting minimum requirements.
- MDCAT 2023 results are acceptable, and if both 2023 and 2024 tests were attempted, the higher score will be considered.
Educational Background:
- HSSC Pre-Medical or Equivalent: Minimum 60% in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics.
- IBCC Equivalence Certificate: Required for foreign qualifications.
- Domicile: A valid certificate from any district in Punjab is mandatory.
- Quota Seats: Additional documents and specific requirements must be met for quota applicants.
Merit Calculation:
The merit formula is as follows:
- Matriculation/SSC: 10%
- FSc./HSSC Pre-Medical: 40%
- MDCAT: 50%

Application Process
- Visit the UHS Online Admission Portal:
- For MBBS: http://public-mbbs.uhs.edu.pk
- For BDS: http://public-bds.uhs.edu.pk
- Register with your personal details.
- Enter educational qualifications and test scores.
- Select seat categories and list colleges by preference.
- Upload scanned documents (maximum file size: 1 MB).
- Generate a Rs. 2000/- challan and pay at the Bank of Punjab.
- Upload the payment receipt to your portal.
- Review your application before submission.
Applications can be modified until the deadline, but no changes will be allowed afterward. Make sure all documents are clear and meet the required specifications.

- First Merit List: 23rd January 2025
BDS:
- Application Period: 3rd February to 11th February 2025
- First Merit List: 20th February 2025
