Ms. Faletolu shared the story of her son’s short life, which was taken from her just months before he became a father.

“He took the role very seriously,” Ms. Faletolu said. His father died in 2005, the same year that Uati Pele Faletolu was born, and as a child he felt a great responsibility to his family.

But that didn’t happen and after he left school in 2021 he told his mother he wanted to go back and do the HSC from him. He had a new goal. He wanted to be a teacher.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Ms. Faletolu told the crowd. Many laughed with her. Wati, a teacher? After causing so much suffering to his own masters?
I was so proud But Uati had to prove himself to be able to go back to school at all. Most teachers didn’t want him there a second time.
Within three weeks of returning to school, life threw another blow at work.
Taylor, Uati’s girlfriend, was pregnant.
“I was so disappointed,” Ms. Faletolu admitted. she was so young But now I know it was a blessing in disguise.
Arrested
A 15-year-old boy arrested at the scene was still being questioned by police and was released on bail. attended the funeral.

Homicide detective superintendent Danny Doherty said they could not cooperate “due to false loyalty or fear of retaliation.”
“We know from the vision, which we have already reviewed, that a significant number of people filmed the incident, many of whom have not yet provided the vision to police,” he said.
“In our experience, it’s likely that someone or more people unknowingly took a clear picture of something relevant to the investigation.”
