UAEV Sets New EV Charging Tariffs for 2025, Launches User-Friendly App

Starting January 2025, UAEV, the government-run electric vehicle (EV) charging network, will implement revised tariffs for its services. Users will be charged Dh1.20 per kWh (plus VAT) for DC chargers and Dh0.70 per kWh (plus VAT) for AC chargers. This marks a shift from the free charging services available since May, aiming to create a more sustainable and scalable infrastructure.

To make EV charging more convenient, UAEV is introducing a mobile app. This app will help users find nearby charging stations, check live updates on charger availability, and make payments effortlessly. A 24/7 call center is also being launched to provide immediate assistance whenever needed.

Sharif Al Olama, Chairman of UAEV, emphasized the importance of these initiatives, saying, “Standardized tariffs, a user-friendly app, and constant support reflect our efforts to improve the experience for EV drivers. This aligns with our goal of promoting a cleaner, greener future in line with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy.”

By 2030, UAEV plans to install 1,000 chargers across urban areas, highways, and transit hubs in all emirates, ensuring accessibility for all EV users.
