UAE is Recalling Thousands Of Cars With Manufacturing Defects
The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Economy (MoE) has issued 27 recall notices for thousands of cars in the first five months of this year due to manufacturing issues.
These recalls affect 34,386 cars from different models and manufacturers such as Ford, Mercedes, GMC, Jeep, Kia, Mazda, Bentley, Dodge, and Land Rover.
There was a notable 41% drop in withdrawals compared to the same period last year. Of all the months, February saw the most recalls with 17,791 affected vehicles.
In the first five months of 2022, the ministry issued a total of 65 recall notices for around 59,000 cars.
The recalls were issued to fix various bugs, including issues with the wiper motors, doors, airbags, rearview cameras, and the quality of the weld between the steering column bracket and the beam.
These defects can affect the safety and performance of the affected vehicles. Therefore, immediate corrective action is crucial.
To ensure the safety and functionality of the recalled cars, the responsible dealers have contacted all customers of the affected models. They perform thorough inspections and make any necessary repairs free of charge.
Here is the table showing the company’s manufacturing defects in the recalled vehicles:
