UAE Govt And The Gulf States Will Merge And Implement A Common Traffic System
To increase road safety and coordination between motorists and traffic authorities, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will link traffic fines through an integrated system.
The new system is in its final stages and should be implemented soon. The integrated system will reduce accidents and violations, harmonize regulations and increase the safety of all residents.
It will also facilitate the exchange of information between the GCC countries. Once implemented, drivers in the United Arab Emirates and GCC countries will be held liable for traffic offenses in each country.
Even after returning to the country of residence, the driver must continue to pay the fines via the linked system. Last month, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar announced an integrated bilateral system for traffic offenses.
The integrated traffic system tries to ensure traffic safety by reducing confusion caused by different laws between GCC countries.
