UAE Astronaut Provides A View Of Mecca And Medina From Space
Sultan Al Neyadi, a United Arab Emirates astronaut on the International Space Station (ISS), captured a stunning video of Mecca and Medina from space.
The images highlight the Grand Mosque shining like a star. Al Neyadi, who is on the longest-running Arab space mission, posted the video on Twitter as a gift to the “sons of Salman,” referring to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
In the video, Mecca and Medina are illuminated and the Grand Mosque, the holiest place for Muslims, stands out in its brilliance. The images also covered Jeddah and other parts of the kingdom.

Al Neyadi said that this gift is for the land of the two holy mosques, the place of origin of the message and revelation. He shared a message in Arabic with emojis of the crescent, star, and flag of Saudi Arabia.
As people gathered to pray Isha and Taraweeh at the Grand Mosque on the night of Ramadan 27, Al Neyadi shared a special gift that showed Mecca and Medina illuminated.
The images went viral on social media, with many expressing their gratitude for the unique sight.
