UAE Appointed Manchester City Owner As New VP

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, issued new orders and appointed the Vice President, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and two Deputy Governors.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the owner of one of the major football clubs Manchester City, becomes Vice President of the United Arab Emirates. He will work with Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Likewise, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was appointed Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Khaled is also a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, Chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Executive Council, and Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed, National Security Advisor, will serve as Deputy Governors of Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid congratulated the newly appointed leaders in a tweet, saying:

I congratulate my brother Sheikh Hazza, Sheikh Tahnoun, Sheikh Mansour and Sheikh Khalid bin Muhammad on the President’s confidence. If you and your brothers, leaders of the new generation, the march continues.

The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan, also wrote a warm message to the new appointments, saying:

I congratulate my brothers Cheikh Hazza, Cheikh Tahnoun, Cheikh Mansour and Cheikh Khaled on the valuable confidence shown in them by the President. National leaders who carry on Zayed’s legacy and ideas. We ask God that you will succeed in serving our country and our people.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed made the appointments with the approval of the United Arab Emirates Federal Supreme Council, the country’s highest constitutional authority, made up of leaders from the seven emirates.
