The UAE Fatwa Council has announced the amount of Zakat Al-Fitr, Fidyah, and Kaffarah for the upcoming Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
Zakat Al-Fitr, Fidyah, And Kaffarah Announced Before Ramadan And Eid:
Ramadan begins on Thursday, March 23rd and Eid-ul-Fitr falls on Friday, April 21st.
The Council has set the value of Zakat Al-Fitr at AED 25. This charity is given before the Eid prayer and aims to help the poor and needy celebrate the occasion.
Fidyah is given to the poor by those who cannot fast due to old age or illness. The Fatwa Council set the amount of fidyah at AED 15 per day without fasting. This allows people who cannot fast to fulfill their religious duty and receive blessings during Ramadan.

Kaffara is a charity given to atone for willful breaking of the fast or violation of the rules of Ramadan. Its value has been set at AED900 per day, which is the value of food delivered to 60 poor people. They are designed to discourage people from intentionally breaking their fast during the holy month.

Residents of the United Arab Emirates start the morning with Eid prayers, which take place in mosques and open squares across the country.
