UAE Announces New Restrictions On Entry Of Foreign Vehicles
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new regime for foreign vehicles entering the country. From June 26th, any foreign vehicle entering Al Ghuwaifat Port Station by land must be insured.
This rule was announced by the Federal Agency for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP).
To make things easier, ICP has set up an online portal called “Shory Aber” to apply for insurance in advance. It is now possible to take out insurance for the vehicle online before reaching the Al Ghuwaifat port station.
This service is great as it helps travelers and transit passengers to cross the port quickly and electronically.
ICP has provided step-by-step instructions on how to use the service on its website. Another option is to download the “Shory Aber” app on an iPhone or Android device.
Upon arrival at the ports, a traveler must present proof of insurance for their vehicle. This online service can be accessed from anywhere in just two minutes, saving travelers the time and hassle of searching for insurance providers upon arrival.
In addition, travelers no longer have to leave their vehicles during the process.
