Two Killed, 23 Others Injured In Lahore Blast Incident
Two Killed and 23 Others Injured in an explosion at Paan Mandi in Anarkali on Thursday.
A large contingent of police officers made their way to the site of the blast, a bond shop in the Anarkali Bazaar near Lahore’s historic city walls. The police took the situation under control and cordoned off the scene of the explosion.
The injured were taken to nearby Mayo Hospital. The windows of nearby shops and buildings were shattered by the blast.
The store caught fire and reduced it to ashes after the explosion, as coroners said a timing device was used to detonate the bomb.
Police previously said it was a cylinder blast, while Rescue 112 officers said it looked like a bomb blast.
Punjab IGP became aware of the blast and requested a report from CCPO Lahore.
The Deputy Inspector General of Lahore, Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan told the media the investigation was at an early stage and the nature of the blast was being determined.
The police officer said the blast caused a 1.5-foot hole in the ground while the injured were taken to Mayo Hospital.
