Tootsie Roll Sensor As A Health Monitor
Researchers at ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces have developed an amazing Tootsie Roll candy as a health monitor.
The candy acts as an electrode, the sensor, that identifies the salt and electrolyte levels in saliva to monitor ovulation status or kidney health.
The researchers first squeezed a Tootsie roll and reduced the gaps on its surface to a striped design that could accommodate the saliva sample.
