Timothy Satterlee has been missing since he was attacked by an alligator in a flood outside his home in the New Orleans suburb of Slidell on 30th Aug.
A 12-foot, a 500-pound alligator was caught and killed this week by Louisiana officials after being suspected of fatally attacking Satterlee after Hurricane Ida had human remains in its stomach.
Timothy Satterlee’s Age
His current age was 71 years.
Killed in Alligator Attack
As per the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office, MPs captured a 12-foot alligator weighing just over 500 pounds in the Avery Estates area, near where Timothy Satterlee Sr. attacked and was reported missing by his wife on Monday, August 30th.
MPs and other partners searched the area for two weeks looking for Satterlee or the alligator that attacked him.
After his wife witnessed the attack, he was able to drag him up the steps of their house, still alive, but when he returned from helping in a small boat, he was missing.
Authorities have been looking for Satterlee for two weeks and the alligator was captured and killed by lawmakers and wildlife officials on Monday near the area where Satterlee disappeared.
Human Remains Found
On 13th September, Sheriff Randy Smith said officers found an alligator in a waterway near the incident. The alligator was caught in traps set by LDWF agents.
Human remains were found in the alligator’s stomach.
The coroner will determine if the remains belong to Satterlee.
“It is a terrible tragedy and my condolences and condolences to the Satterlee family. Today’s discoveries won’t bring your loved ones back, but I hope they find a solution.”
“I take great pride in the complex and continuous work of my assistants and other agencies in helping me, and I hope that their persistence in finding this alligator will help the family come to terms with its loss. We will keep them in our prayers,” Sheriff Smith said.
