The UAE’s New Visa Regulations Favor Longer Stays in The Country
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced several new travel laws to encourage tourism and allow expatriates to stay longer in the country they previously only used as a transit point.
New long-term residency permits such as the Golden Visa, Green Visa, Retirement Visa, and Freelancer Visa have attracted many investors, students, and professionals to the UAE in search of career and investment opportunities.
According to human resource consultants and recruitment consultants, the time visitors spend in the UAE will skyrocket in the near future as the current average length of stay in the Gulf country has surpassed five years.
Commenting on the increasing length of stay, Nicki Wilson, managing director of Genie Recruitment, said the flexible visa regime would encourage longer stays in the Emirates and allow wealthy people to plan their future here.
Last year, the United Arab Emirates began issuing 60-day visit visas as part of its reform strategy called the Advanced Visa System (AVS). Additionally, the five-year multiple-entry visa remains one of the most popular options in the UAE as it does not require a sponsor and allows the visa holder to stay there for up to 90 consecutive days.
The UAE also began offering a same-day visit visa extension service after it remained suspended during the coronavirus restrictions.
