The Title of Prince of Wales Must Be ‘Abolished’: Ask Gwynedd For Advice
Prince William’s title as Prince of Wales is apparently in jeopardy as Gwynedd Council has shown its anti-royalist stance.
According to the information, Blaenau Ffestiniog’s adviser to Bowydd a Rhiw called the monarchy an “oppressive archaic tradition”.
He suggested; “The Council opposes the retention of the title ‘Prince of Wales’ and calls on the relevant authorities to formally consult the people of Wales on whether or not the title should be abolished.”
Meanwhile, another motion suggested: “That the Council oppose any investiture taking place in Gwynedd or anywhere on Welsh soil.”
“The days of Wales entitled ‘a small principality’ was abolished in the 16tOh-century Laws of Wales Act,” he said.
“This oppressive archaic tradition has plagued our nation for centuries.”
