Terrible Footage Of Marc Fajardo Being Thrown From A Carnival Ride And Hitting A Pole
A young man was allegedly thrown from a spinning carnival carousel when his seat lock failed, a chilling video shows.
A lung had to be removed after 13-year-old Mark Fajardo crashed into a steel pole in front of horrified onlookers.
On November 1st, Mark and his cousin performed the “Swinger Wave” trick during the Filipino Halloween celebrations in Urdaneta.
The youths reportedly screamed in fear and begged for their release, but were “ignored” by staff.
As the ride speeds up, video footage shows rocker-style chairs that fold out almost horizontally.
Mark is suddenly thrown out of the air at high speed and crashes into the steel frame of a nearby awning before falling to the ground to screams from bystanders.
His family told local media that he had significant internal injuries and one of his lung fragments had to be removed.
They claimed that the owners of the fairgrounds wanted to blame Mark for the accident and would not allow the lock to be picked.
The mother told Marivic Fajardo: “The doctors warned me that she has to be careful as she only has one lung left.”
“I hope the operators don’t make up stories.”
“They blame my son and say he took the padlock. Why would he do that when the ride was going so fast?”
While the authorities are taking care of it, the swinger attraction has been closed.
Police spokeswoman Maj Gen Ria Tacderan said: “Our challenge right now is to see if anyone is monitoring or checking the rides before they are used.”
The fairgrounds are licensed and operating legally, he continued, but the license can be revoked for security breaches.
According to local media sources, the fairground owners have since agreed to pay for Mark’s medical and other expenses.
Ms. Fajardo reportedly promised not to sue her in return.
