Terra Field is a member of the Trans-Netflix team who was suspended after a Twitter thread commenting on Dave Chappelle’s new special, “The Closer,” The Verge reported.
Sources told The Verge that the suspension was due to Field attempting to attend a director-level meeting to which she was not invited, the outlet said.
Field’s LinkedIn page says that she is a senior software engineer at Netflix, based in San Francisco, California.

Terra Field Tweeted About Dave Chappelle Special
Field posted a lengthy Twitter thread on 6th October 2021, responding to Chappelle’s comments about the trans community on his new Netflix special, “The Closer.” He said Chappelle “attacks the trans community and the validity of transit.”
“Being trans is really a lot of fun when you’re someone who really knows it,” he continues. “How would volunteering for a second puberty be * not * fun?” However, he does not. Our existence is “fun” for him, and when faced with his evil we feel “offended.”
Field continued the thread listing cases of fatal violence against transsexuals. The thread’s first tweet had 13,500 retweets on 11th October 2021.
Field did not comment directly on the suspension but wrote on Twitter: “I just want to say I appreciate everyone’s support. You guys are the best, especially when the going gets tough.”
Minutes later, She wrote: “Someone I spoke to on Grindr years ago wrote to me saying that he is proud of me for standing up for me.” A true ally.
The field also shared the comments he received on his thread, including people saying he was “a gay boy”. She described the second take in the screenshots as “an intolerance-tasting flight”.
Why Did She Suspend?
Netflix recently suspended Terra Field, a trans engineer who tweeted against Dave Chappelle’s latest comedy special on The Closer.
The comedian’s latest special has been heavily criticized by GLAAD and the National Black Justice Coalition for alleged statements about the LGBTQ community.
As a member of Netflix’s trans team, Terra also created a viral Twitter thread explaining why she was unhappy with Dave’s jokes. However, the suspension has raised doubts among Internet users. Many wondered if this had happened because of her tweets.
Her Professional Career
