Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak was injured in a two-car accident Sunday, his office said.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. at Rainbow Boulevard and Russell Road in Las Vegas, according to a statement from the governor’s spokesman.
“The other driver and Governor Sisolak appeared to have minor external injuries, but both were taken to the Southern Nevada University Medical Center as a precaution,” the statement said.
The governor was released about two hours later and is resting at his home, as per his office.

Subway police are investigating an accident involving Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak on Sunday afternoon.
The police reacted shortly before 1 p.m. to the collision between a Lexus SUV and a red sedan near Rainbow Boulevard and Russell Road in the South West Valley.
Police did not say which car the governor was driving.
Sisolak and the other driver were taken to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The governor was released from the hospital around 3 p.m. and he was “resting at home”.
The intersection was closed for several hours during the police investigation.
