Schools Closed in Sindh on Feb 14 for Shab-e-Barat

Schools across Sindh—both government and private—are closed this Friday, February 14, in honor of Shab-e-Barat. The province’s education department confirmed the break after talks with members of the education steering committee.

Shab-e-Barat falls on the 15th night of Shaban and holds a special place for many Muslims. On this night, people offer prayers, seek pardon, and visit the graves of family and friends. Many believe the night has a say in shaping the coming year, leading them to reflect deeply on their lives.

Since the night carries deep meaning, Pakistan, along with several other nations, marks it with a public holiday in various sectors, including education. This pause gives everyone a chance to take part in their spiritual practices and traditions.
