Sindh Govt Has 3 Consecutive Public Holidays

The Sindh government announced on Thursday that Monday would be a public holiday to coincide with World Labor Day.

The announcement specifies that all government and semi-government offices in the province will remain closed on May 1 (Monday).

The Department of General Administration and Services has announced that all schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed on May 1st. This means that there will be 3 consecutive public holidays from Saturday to Monday.

World Labor Day, also known as International Workers’ Day or May Day, is observed on May 1st each year to recognize workers’ contributions to society. It commemorates the historic struggle of workers for better working conditions, working hours, and wages.

This day is also a reminder of ongoing efforts to protect workers’ rights and promote fair labor practices around the world.

Many countries, including Pakistan, have declared May Day a public holiday to recognize workers’ contribution to their country’s economy and to promote workers’ rights.

On this day, labor rights organizations and unions often hold rallies, parades, and other events to raise awareness of labor issues and advocate for better working conditions and wages.
