On account of high-temperature heatwave prompted a parliamentary body to urge the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to begin summer vacation in Islamabad on 1st July.
The request came Wednesday from members of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Education, who called for a summer break for students from July 1 to July 18.
The committee, which will meet with the presidency of Senator Irfanul Haque Siddiqui, will declare that it will be able to observe the holidays starting on July 1st around Islamabad, the holidays starting on July 18th.

“The Ministry of Education must take measures to ensure that the summer holidays are also observed in the capital from July 1st,” said the Commission President and urged the Ministry and the Federal Directorate for Education (FDE) to take their decision to observe the Summer Break from July 18th.
Education Ministry officials also present at the meeting assured the committee that they would consider the committee’s recommendations in this regard.
On Tuesday, the FDE announced that the schools’ summer vacation from July 18th to August 1st will be observed.

On the other hand, the regulatory authority for private educational institutions (PIERA) seems to oppose the decision, as it has not yet issued any communication on this.
As a result, many private schools in the federal capital are still open.
