Schengen Visas Are Delayed Ahead Of Eid in UAE
UAE residents planning to travel to Schengen countries for the upcoming Eid holiday may experience delays in visa applications. High demand from European countries including France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Sweden, and Switzerland has resulted in full visa appointments.
According to travel agencies, demand for Schengen visas has skyrocketed recently, with some receiving nearly 20 applications a week. Although the visa processing time has decreased from 2 months to 1 month, it has become difficult to get an appointment due to the high number of applications.
The Eid holiday, which is expected to last up to 6 days in the United Arab Emirates, has prompted an increase in travel demand. To avoid stress, families are advised to book their tickets in advance as airfares can increase by up to 150% before long holidays.
Visa appointments for Greece, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic are easier to get than in other countries, according to Libin Varghese, Operations Manager at Rooh Travel and Tourism.
For an additional AED 400, some companies expedite the visa process.
