SBP Declared Bank Holiday On Allama Iqbal Day 9th November

SBP declared November 9th a public holiday due to Allama Iqbal Day.

To commemorate Iqbal Day, the 145th birthday of Dr. Allama Mohammad Iqbal, the federal government has declared 9th November (Wednesday) a national holiday.

An official announcement said: “The Prime Minister has had the pleasure of requesting that November 9 (Iqbal Day) be honored as a public holiday.”

Millions of Muslims across the subcontinent have been blessed by Dr. Iqbal was greatly influenced in his search for a homeland for the free practice of Islam.

The day would begin with special prayers offered in mosques for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

Allama Iqbal was born in Sialkot on 9th November 1877, Iqbal is often referred to as the “Poet of the East” in Pakistan and other parts of the world.

Iqbal was a well-known poet and thinker. He is credited with creating poetry and using his political influence to call for the establishment of a Muslim homeland separate from other nations.

His speech in Allahabad in 1930 marked a turning point in pre-partition politics.
