Saudi Arabia has announced a new salary structure for government-employed engineers, aiming to make the profession more rewarding and appealing. The updated pay scale, approved during a Cabinet meeting led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will come into effect on December 31.
This change targets engineers working in government roles and holding qualifications recognized by Saudi or international universities. The system categorizes professionals into roles such as engineer, associate engineer, professional engineer, and consultant engineer, with accreditation from the Saudi Council of Engineers being a key requirement.
While the exact salary figures haven’t been revealed, the move is expected to create a more supportive and dynamic work environment for engineers. It’s seen as a way to boost their skills and professional growth. Saudi Minister of Human Resources Ahmed Al Rajhi expressed his support on X, highlighting the positive impact this initiative could have on the sector.
