Samsung Officially Sets To Assemble Mobile Production In Pakistan
South Korean electronics maker Samsung has started manufacturing its mobile devices in Pakistan, and this development is expected to lower the country’s import bill.
As per the information, a senatorial delegation led by the chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Industry and Production, Faisal Subzwari, visited Samsung’s production site in Karachi and officially started the production of mobile devices.
On the occasion, Samsung’s senior management in the country also briefed the delegation on the growth of the mobile device manufacturing industry and the challenges it is facing in the country.
In a conversation with the media after the visit, Senator Faisal Subzwari praised Samsung for setting up a production facility with modern lines and starting production in less than four months.
He also recognized the role of the federal government in creating a favorable environment for one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers to come to Pakistan, thereby creating job opportunities for the local population.
Senator Faisal Sabzwari also suggested that the federal government take firm action to move from growth in assembly to localization in industry.

The delegation also visited the production facility of an automobile manufacturer and asked the administration of the Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA) to discuss their measures to increase and improve exports from Pakistan.
It should be noted at this point that the Lucky Group and Samsung signed an agreement in July of this year to set up a local assembly plant in Pakistan for the production of Samsung cell phones.
A month later, the Pakistani Telecommunications Authority (PTA) authorized the Lucky Group and Samsung to start local production of Samsung cell phones under Mobile Device Manufacturing Regulations (MDM) 2021.
