Samsung has a 200MP camera in the works which should appear on the Xiaomi Mi 12 and Galaxy S22.
This main camera may be accompanied by a 50 MP RGBW camera, according to the latest report from the popular Insider Ice Universe.
If you believe their claim, the two sensors will be announced in September. Since the whistleblower has a good history of leaks, the supposed release date is likely true.
A standard RGB sensor consists of red, green, and blue light filters. Samsung’s new RGBW sensor adds a white LED to the mix which helps with pure white light. This should allow better highlight reproduction in high contrast scenes and better color accuracy.

We already know how an RGBW sensor works in practice because the Huawei P8 was one of the first phones to launch an RGBW sensor in 2015, which of course it is.
Since Samsung’s 50 MP RGBW sensor is used in flagship phones, we would expect impressive photos with little noise, even in poor lighting conditions.
If Xiaomi and Samsung follow the same schedule as last year, we should see the Mi 12 and Galaxy S22 respectively in December and January.
