Samsung Could Launch A 5nm Chip For Entry-Level Smartphones Next Week
When a new generation of chipset technology is introduced, it is first implemented in flagship or high-end devices before it becomes cheaper and cheaper.
Exynos 2100 was Samsung’s first 5nm flagship smartphone chip in 2020, but the technology quickly evolved into the company’s first mid-range chip, the Exynos 1080.
As per the new leak from insider Ice Universe, the company now plans to introduce 5nm chip technology into entry-level smartphone chips. He believes that Samsung is working on a 5nm chip for entry-level phones and that it will be smaller than the Exynos 1080.
The insider says it will be called Exynos 1280 although it will run below 1080. four A55s and a Mali G78 MP10.
This could become the first entry-level 5nm chip on the market as the lower-priced 5nm chips are all limited to mid-range phones at the moment.

Ice Universe adds that this entry-level chipset could launch next week on 10th November. Samsung’s partner company Vivo could be the first to integrate this new chipset into its smartphones.
But that’s not all, because Samsung is expected to announce a total of three new chipsets this year.
One of them is expected to be the new Exynos chip powered by AMD with much better graphics performance than before. It is rumored to be called the Exynos 2200 and will be part of the Galaxy S22 series.
