Sindh’s information minister, Saeed Ghani Opposes implementing the federal govt’s Single National Curriculum (SNC) in the province.
Ghani, who recently resigned from the education ministry to take over the information ministry, said that the preparation of the curriculum was the responsibility of the provincial government and that the center should not impose its decisions.
In a private news channel on Friday, the minister said that he had previously informed the federal Minister of Education, Shafqat Mahmood, that Sindh was not constitutionally obligated to enforce the work of the SNC as the provinces enjoy autonomy in education, health, and finance, etc. ., according to the 18th amendment.

When asked, Ghani said parents should be able to choose between English or Urdu and suggested that the federal ministry share the program with other stakeholders to get them involved.
The introduction of a uniform curriculum in all public and private schools and madrasas was the brainchild and electoral promise of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He believed that all children should have a fair and equal opportunity to receive a quality education.
The Federal Ministry of Education has worked on this project for more than two years and, after extensive consultation with representatives from all schools of thought, has completed a program that is now being implemented throughout Punjab in primary education.
The govt intends to simplify the program to year 12 by the end of 2022.
