Sadaat Johnson is the father of a 4-year-old boy. He told his son to shoot at cops in the McDonald’s drive-thru and was arrested, police said Tuesday.
The boy and his 3-year-old sister are now in state custody after the wild incident at the Midvale fast-food joint, the Greater Salt Lake Unified Police Department told the Post.

What Were The Details Of An Incident?
The children were in the car when their father, Sadaat Johnson, got angry about a wrong order and pulled out a gun, police said.
Johnson then allegedly ordered his son to shoot officers when he was arrested by officers after McDonald’s employees called 911, Sgt. Melody Cutler said.
“I’ve been in law enforcement for 27 years and I’ve never seen anything like this,” Cutler said earlier Tuesday. “It’s incredibly disturbing for a 4-year-old to even know how to use a gun, point it at a cop and pull the trigger.”
Johnson’s son, who was in the back seat at the time, fired the gun, but an officer managed to deflect the gun just as it detonated: The bullet got stuck in a canopy, police said.
Cutler said state social workers took the two youths into custody at the scene.
Johnson, a native of Georgia, was being held without bail in a Salt Lake County jail on charges of child molestation and threats of misdemeanor or use of dangerous weapons, according to online records Tuesday. It is not clear if he has hired an attorney to comment on his behalf.
Cutler said the officer who pushed the gun away when Johnson’s son opened fire suffered burns to his arm. A witness told police Johnson told his son to “shoot the police,” department officials said in a statement Monday.

Child advocates from Utah were not in contact with Johnson’s family prior to Monday’s incident. The man’s Facebook profile says he recently relocated to Salt Lake City from Atlanta.
Johnson’s fiancé is not the biological mother of his two children, Cutler said.
“We don’t have much else right now,” Cutler said. “Our investigations continue.
Cutler said he “couldn’t understand” the strange incident.
“Even the thought of having to use deadly force against a child that comes to mind is unsettling,” Cutler said of police. “For someone putting their child in that position at all, it’s very upsetting. I can’t even understand how it happens.
Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera said the incident showed “how out of hand the anti-police campaign has gotten.”
“It’s a sad day for us because the person who pulled the trigger was 4 years old,” Salt Lake County Sheriff Rosie Rivera told KUTV. the father to pull the trigger and shoot a policeman. Thank God the cop was able to distract.”
