Initially anticipated to be less severe, the price increase is now expected to have a notable impact on the consumer market, as indicated by data from Trendforce.
The memory industry is currently in a “transitional” phase, with consumers shifting from DDR4 to DDR5 as their primary memory standard. Additionally, there is a notable increase in demand from the server markets, driven by the growing influence of artificial intelligence in this segment.
As next-gen standards like DDR5 and LPDDR5 move towards becoming mainstream specifications in the markets, the upcoming quarters hold promise for potential positive outcomes in revenue and market correction for supply and demand dynamics.
