Ras Al Khaimah Rings in 2025 with Record-Breaking Drone Show

Ras Al Khaimah welcomed 2025 with a spectacular drone and fireworks show that set two new Guinness World Records, leaving audiences in awe.

The Emirate secured records for creating the largest aerial tree display and the largest seashell image, both formed by drones. The event, titled Our Story in the Sky, celebrated Ras Al Khaimah’s cultural and natural heritage with a breathtaking blend of technology and artistry.

Using 1,400 drones, synchronized fireworks, and lasers, the show featured stunning visuals. The seashell display, with 982 intricate elements, earned the first record, while the tree formation, crafted with all 1,400 drones, achieved the second.

Emma Brain, an official from Guinness World Records, shared that the verification process involved strict criteria. The minimum benchmarks were 750 drones for the seashell and 1,200 for the tree, both of which Ras Al Khaimah surpassed with ease.

Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, expressed pride in this achievement, calling it a testament to the Emirate’s creativity and cultural pride. He added, “As we step into 2025, we will deliver even more unforgettable experiences for residents and visitors.”

The show spanned five kilometers along the waterfront, divided into three acts:

  • Shifting Sands showcased the Emirate’s connection to its land and evolving ecosystem.
  • Mysteries of the Sea highlighted maritime traditions and pearl diving heritage with vivid underwater imagery.
  • Guiding Starlight paid tribute to seafaring history, featuring celestial visuals and a dazzling finale of shooting stars and pyrotechnics.

Over 100,000 people enjoyed the event from beachfront resorts and festival areas, which were designed to welcome families and individuals alike, making it a truly inclusive celebration.
