Rana Tanveer Hussain Appointed VC Of The AIOU
Federal Minister for Education and Training Rana Tanveer Hussain has been appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).
In this regard, the Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MoFEPT) issued a notification and announced that the Federal Minister of Education would according to Art. 11 Para. 2 AIOU will take over the function of the provisional VC. Act of 1974.
It is important to note that Rana Tanveer Hussain will hold this position until a regular VC is appointed by the university.
In September, the Ministry of Education advertised the vacancies for two vice-rectors (VC) and one rector at three public universities in the federal capital.
According to the information, a VC position at Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) and AIOU and a chancellor position at the International Islamic University (IIU) have been advertised to be filled according to the legal process.
Earlier, AIOU’s regional hub, equipped with the latest internet facilities, was inaugurated in the capital of South Balochistan and CPEC’s flagship seaport, Gwadar.

Federal Education Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the campus, which will make it the country’s 54th AIOU regional center.
