Muslims worldwide are preparing for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, set to commence in less than two months.
According to astronomical calculations, reports indicate that Ramadan 2024 in Saudi Arabia is expected to start on March 11. Remarkably, this year’s Ramadan will be observed during the winter season, a unique occurrence after 26 years. The anticipated dates for Eid ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia are April 10 or 11, as projected by the Emirates Astronomy Society (EAS).
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society Board of Directors, highlighted that the winter season began on December 22 and will persist until March 20.
Fasting hours during Ramadan will vary across different countries, potentially exceeding 12 to 17 hours this year. In regions like the Gulf and the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt, fasting hours are estimated to range from 13 to 15 hours, depending on geographical location.

The expected date for Eid ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia, according to experts, is April 10 or 11.
Expected date of Ramadan 2024 in Pakistan
As for Pakistan, the Met Office and relevant departments have yet to announce the tentative date for the commencement of Ramadan 2024 in the country. Traditionally, the first day of Ramadan in Pakistan aligns with either the day after it begins in Saudi Arabia or on the same day.
