In 2019, the Supreme Court issued a resounding judgment in the 2017 Faizabad sit-in case, highlighting lapses on multiple fronts and directing authorities to operate within their respective mandates. Justice Isa also faced controversy when a presidential reference was filed against him in 2019 for alleged non-disclosure of assets, eventually leading to a tax investigation against his wife, Sarina Isa.
