Punjab Ramadan Relief Package 2024
The federal government has announced the Punjab Ramadan Relief Package 2024 to all utilities in Pakistan. As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Utility Stores Corporation has unveiled the Ramzan relief package 2024 totaling Rs7.49 billion.
The Punjab Ramadan Relief Package will be implemented from 20th March 2024. Ramadan Relief Package 2024 will continue until Chand Raat.
The announcement follows the approval of a package by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) aimed at providing assistance to people during the fasting month.
According to a spokesperson for Utility Stores, The government targeted subsidies will be provided for 19 essential commodities.
A grant of Rs 4-50 will be given for these 19+ items. Utilities bought a sugar batch of 40,000 tons of flour and ghee packets to supply at subsidized prices.

The Punjab government will also set up special Ramadan bazaars in various cities in the province.

This is a good move by the government, but it has been found that utility companies are unable to maintain the balance between supply and demand. Sugar and flour are not given to the common people.
Many items are shipped in bulk to retailers for commission purposes only. The government is now expected to appoint raid teams to oversee the implementation of the Punjab Ramadan Relief Package 2024.

Utility Store Ramadan Package 2024 Prices List
Individuals participating in the Benazir Income Support Program receive an allowance of Rs. 27 for flour, Rs. 11 for sugar, and Rs. 25 for ghee (per kg).
Meanwhile, the revised price for a 10kg sack of flour for the Ramadan Relief Package is Rs 648/-. Similarly, sugar will be available at Rs 75 per kg and ghee at Rs 490 per kg from all supply stores in Pakistan.
This pack of PM Utility Stores Ramadan Relief Package 2024 will continue until Chand Raat. So if you are registered with the BISP you can avail of the full Ramadan Relief Package. The Utility Store Ramadan Relief Package will begin on 20th March 2024 and last until Chand Raat.

Free Flour in The Punjab Ramadan Relief Package 2024
Punjab’s acting Prime Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired the province’s 10th cabinet meeting at his office here on Monday.
During the meeting, the Punjab government, in cooperation with the federal government, announced the largest and only Ramazan Relief Package in Pakistan. The cabinet made a landmark decision to provide free wheat flour to the public during the holy month of Ramazan.
Under the Special Ramazan Relief Package 2024, the Cabinet approved a scheme to provide free sacks of wheat flour to families with incomes of less than Rs60,000. Families with a CNIC ID Card receive three 10 kg sacks of flour free of charge during the month of Ramazan.
About 15.8 million families and 100 million people will benefit from the free wheat flour Ramzan Package. Nearly 90% of the Punjab population will benefit from the free wheat flour packet, which will be available at select supermarkets, truck stations, and supply stores.
The distribution of free wheat flour starts on the 25th of Sha’ban and lasts until the 25th of Ramazan.
The CM decided to increase the number of stores and transportation points throughout the province and also ordered large companies to install special counters for this purpose.
The meeting was informed that Punjab Information Technology Council has prepared software for the distribution of free wheat flour packets and families registered in the Benazir Income Support Program can get special flour packets for free while unregistered families can get free flour. Commissioners, RPOs, Deputy Commissioners, and DPOs will oversee this program in their respective districts. He was also tasked with running an awareness campaign about the relief program.
“I, the state ministers, the Secretary-General, the IG police, and the administrative apparatus will be present on site for the success of this good work,” said the CM, stressing that everyone would have to burn the midnight oil for the success of this program.
The Minister for Food was briefed on the main features of the Ramzan Package. Provincial ministers, chief secretary, IGP, and secretaries attended the meeting, while provincial minister Jamal Nasir participated via video link.
