Punjab Govt Declares Unexpected Public Holiday

On 11th March (Saturday), Lahore will mark a public holiday in honor of Madhu Lal Hussain’s Urs, the Punjab government has announced.

The Punjab Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notice declaring that day to be a public holiday throughout Lahore District.

The holiday is specially designed to commemorate Urs. In addition, all educational institutions will be closed on March 11th.

Madhu Lal Hussain was a 16th-century Sufi saint and poet who lived in Lahore, now in Pakistan. It is widely regarded as a symbol of love and harmony between different religions and is revered by Muslims and Hindus in the region.

Madhu Lal Hussain’s message was one of universal love. It is said that he lived a simple and humble life and his teachings emphasized the importance of inner purity and spiritual enlightenment.

Every year, a three-day Madhu Lal Hussain urs is held in his honor in Lahore, where followers of different faiths gather to pay their respects. The festival is a major cultural event in the region and a symbol of interfaith harmony and unity.
