Punjab Expands Property Tax to Housing Societies Beyond Urban Areas

Punjab’s property tax system has been expanded to cover housing societies located beyond urban areas, according to officials from the Excise Department.

Residents living in government-approved housing societies will now fall under the property tax net. Taxes will be calculated based on DC rates under this updated framework. Officials explained that the ETO Excise has the authority to assess and finalize these tax calculations.
