Punjab Board Increased The Matric and Inter Paper Checking Fee
The Punjab government has significantly changed the salary scale for checkers of matriculation and intermediate examination papers..
An increase of Rs 5 per test has been announced for examiners, those examining more than 50 registration tests are expected to be paid Rs 45 per test, and those examining fewer than 50 are expected to be paid Rs 35 per test.
A similar salary scale has been introduced for intermediate reviewers: those reviewing more than 50 articles are paid Rs 50 per article and those reviewing less than 50 articles are paid Rs 40 per article.
In addition, the Deputy Chief Examiners are paid Rs 3.5 per post for their work.
The auditors agreed with the decision but also required that the payments be made without tax deductions.
One reviewer, who wished to remain anonymous, said that more than 17% of his compensation is currently tax deductible. They considered this practice unfair and urged the authorities to levy taxes on their own funds.
