The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the officiating lineup for the upcoming 9th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL). Lahore and Multan are set to host 14 matches from February 17 to 27 in the initial phase, while Karachi and Rawalpindi will take over for 16 matches from February 28 to March 12.

Leading the roster are esteemed members of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, including Richard Illingworth, Chris Gaffaney, Ahsan Raza, and Michael Gough. Roshan Maqsood is designated as the match referee for this ninth season of the PSL.

The officials for the qualifiers, eliminators, and the final in Karachi from March 14 to 18 will be announced in due course.
In addition to the ICC Elite Panel, the local umpiring contingent comprises Aleem Dar, Tariq Rasheed, Shozab Raza, Rashid Riaz, Faisal Afridi, Ruchira Palliyaguruge, Asif Yaqoob, Alex Wharf, Abdul Majeed, Muhammad Asif, Naseer Hussain, and Imran Javed.

Richard Illingworth boasts 48 previous PSL umpiring appearances, followed by Chris Gaffaney with 34 across four editions. Alex Wharf and Ruchira Palliyaguruge have contributed 11 and three matches respectively.
Kicking off proceedings on February 18, Michael Gough from England will officiate the opening clash between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Roshan Maqsood, with a significant 97-match portfolio as a match referee and a past stint with the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will spearhead the team of match referees, which includes Ali Naqvi and Muhammad Javaid for the ninth season of the PSL.

In the inaugural match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United in Lahore, the experienced duo of Aleem Dar and Michael Gough will take the field as umpires. Tariq Rasheed will serve as the TV umpire, while Shozab Raza stands ready as the reserve umpire. Muhammad Javaid will fulfill the role of match referee for this encounter.
